June 13, 2008 – More Waste Heat in Alberta
NRGreen Power is proposing to build and operate two waste heat units at Alliance Pipeline’s Windfall compressor station in Alberta. Each unit would be capable of generating up to 7 megawatts of energy - sufficient to meet the power requirements of approximately 14,000 households. Electricity generated by waste heat units produce no greenhouse gas (or other) emissions.

September 12, 2007 - Waste Heat Comes to Alberta
NRGreen Power is proposing to construct waste heat power generation units at two of Alliance Pipeline’s existing compressor stations in Alberta: Morinville and Irma. By converting heat from the exhaust gas emitted from the gas turbines, each unit is capable of generating approximately 5-6 megawatts of energy - sufficient to meet the power requirements of 5,000 to 6,000 households. The units would be constructed entirely within the perimeter of the existing station sites and would connect to the Fortis distribution system. Electricity generated by waste heat units produce no new, or greenhouse gas emissions.

August 24, 2007 - On Friday, August 17, a 172,000-kilogram co-generator unit (a key component to the waste heat recovery construction) arrived in Estlin, Saskatchewan from Indiana on an 27-metre-long flatbed truck. This over-sized delivery captured the attention of local residents, as well as the local media.
